Mostly I remember the heartache of being homesick, hating the weather, hating the food, missing my friends. I also remember the late nights spent coding, punching my monitor, swearing at the computer and so on when I had assignments due.

However reading my yearbook recently has improved my memories, rose tinting them somewhat. I am now missing the people I was in class with and maybe even a course or two.

Default Fondest Memory

Silly as it seems....my fondest memory is going to my first football game....at the old Mountaineer Field...we were playing the Richmond Spiders....The band come out...did their thing.....OH what they did.....they were awesome!!!!! ........ I remember looking to the left and seeing the football team come out with the gold helmets shining in the sun....the glistening of the gold....the team jumping up and down in a pile slapping each other on the helmet.....and seeing them run on the field behind the Mountaineer....and the student section going nuts...the football team all pumped up...we won 14-12....what a game....

My favorite memory was probably my first chemistry exam. I went in there, not knowing at first where the exam was being held but knowing the building, and then asking someone outside. I didn't have many friends in that class so I kind of tried to make banter with the guy, but from what I remember he had the blackest coal-colored hair I could remember and looked like a really fine human being. If I remember right he was wearing a blue striped crew shirt.

During the course I didn't focus very well, but ended up doing well at the experimentation. During that exam, though, I was the first to hand in my paper, which usually means that the person obviously doesn't know what they are doing on the exam. The truth is, I didn't, but I had the guts to walk up to the teacher, hand the paper in, and walk out of there. I think people don't lose respect for a person when they are able to admit they they are not always right. And the cool thing is, I still like my old chemistry teacher.
