Default 2008 Season Wrap-up

So, the Mountaineers had a great run at the NCAA Championships, and finally ended up at the Sweet Sixteen. What are your thoughts about their season, and the time it took as well as the sweat and blood and tears that the players all gave?

Some of my favorite moments include the Jordan-esque run of Alexander, and the two blocks in the semi-finals. I also liked Mazulla and his drives, and the others coming together to make it all the way to the SWEET sixteen!

The dynamic trio of Nichols, Butler and Ruoff was nearly unstoppable. There was so much energy from that team that the whole state seemed to rally around them. I guess I can say this now, but we really had a fantastic season.

What do you guys think about the 2008 Mountaineers?

Default Hey

yeah, we did upset them, didn't we? I forgot about the entire last-second thematics. That ball went in the hoop, didn't it? Too bad Coach K didn't come play us back during 2003.

The season was a really good one, and I'm glad that the NCAA has such strict standards because obviously the NBA is losing money and the NCAA seems to be continuing on their strong course toward fame and success for their players. WVU really is a team comparable to any team in their division and can play with the best. Seeing Joe Alexander play with such confidence this year really made the game's great for me, especially when he was playing against UCONN and Duke. Both of those teams should have beat us but in the end Joe was there to give us the extra boost we needed to overcome their teams both strategically and physically. The Mountaineers were just sick in 2008 and they will continue to be because of great leadership, and tactical game-playing.

What were your favorite moments of the 2008 season?
