Pat White was being interviewed by an NFL scout and the scout asked Pat's mother how he got his name. Pat said, "Well, when I was a baby, my parents would rub a white buddha statue for good luck" then the recruiter left. He came apon Steve Slaton's house, and went in. After a long interview, he then asked Steve's parents how Steve was named. Steve replied, "The babies in my unit all were from parents of coal miners and were really cold, so they ended up trying to burn slate instead of coal". The recruiter then left, puzzled over the choices these parents had made. Later on, while he was at the game, he noticed Scooter Berry and Johnny Dingle sitting next to each each other on the bench, the backs of thier jerseys spelling out the word DINGLE BERRY. He shouted, "How'd you guys get your names?!" They yelled back, "You know how those WVU girls are".
