WVU Defeats Marshall The Mountaineers pulled off a late win over the Thundering herd tonight with the score at final being 62-64. Fouls were a problem, as there were 10 fouls per team, and many points scored off of those fouls. Joe Alexander was hurt due to a recent groin injury but came in early in the first half and continued to play subdued, but active. WVU gained an early lead only to have Marshall rally and tie the game with 31 seconds left. DeSean Butler then took the game apon his shoulders with a foul-line jumper shot for the win.
Marshall had most of their bench out playing as many of their starting five had fouled out. |
