| Kansas?? KANSAS?? Lets see, they've played ONE ranked team this year. They barely beat Kansas State (who was #24 at the time)! They're undefeated, but they're no better than Hawaii (unless they can beat Mizzou next week, and even if they do that its only two ranked teams that they've beaten. I can't believe we're not #2. The same goes for Missouri. They should be 3 and 4, we should be 2.

| Theres no doubt DPR that Kansas is a great team, they've just not had enough tough opponents. We've always had tough opponents and we still don't get the respect that an undefeated team gets when they have an easy schedule. I just don't like teams that run up the score. Flordia State and Miami used to do that crap and I think its bad form. |

| Hawaii was 9-0 and still didn't make the top ten...theres got to be some disparity there.... |

| I don't care who you play. If you go undefeated you should get the respect of being the best in your conference. Then you have enough rope so when you play the big boys you can hang yourself. |

| how do you think hawaii deserves any credit for the junior high teams they've beaten this year? they barely beat SAN JOSE STATE, they beat LOUISIANA TECH by 1 point.. and beat a mediocre fresno state team by 7, Hawaii's schedule is a joke to me, just about any team from any of the BCS conferences would be undefeated with that same schedule with at least a two touchdown spread in every single game. If you want respect in college football you not only have to beat the ones youre supposed to but beat them well, not by less than 10. Hawaii = I'd love to put money on Boise State winning by at least 14.

| I'm with you Ericsson. I don't believe just because Hawaii is undefeated they should be at the top; I believe that Kansas and Hawaii should be in the top 10, but Kansas is not a top 3 team. I believe they should be #3 if they beat Mizzou AND beat Oklahoma, but I still think you give the edge to WVU. The Big East has proved that its not some conference filled with roll-over teams. As for Hawaii, I'll give them cred if they beat Boise, but thats only if they beat Boise - no other way. Trust me, living in the Pacific Northwest we've got plenty of people drinking the Boise State kool-aid and its a load of crap.

| Hawaii and Kansas both have weak schedules, the reason why Kansas is ahead of Hawaii is because they don't simply win, they continue to score time after time until the scoreboard is overflowing with points. And why not? While I don't agree with that gameplan, because I think it's like beating a dead horse, college teams get rewarded for scoring points. Why haven't they gone to a playoff system? I like the pagentry of the BCS like anyone does, but really, thats the only fair way to rank teams. A team like Connecticut, on a good day, has the potential to whip the ever-loving hell out of any team through the air. They've got a 6-foot-plus reciever and their quarterback is as tall as I am (6' 5"). Yet if we beat them, even on thier best day, we still will need other teams to lose to play for the title. In essence, we don't control our destiny towards a shot at a national title because teams are ranked on statistical elements rather than how well they actually play in terms of that game and that day. I'm playing devil's advocate here, of course, but who is to say that Hawaii didn't face a team that was REALLY on their game that day, and just pulled out a win against a tougher opponent than what the numbers say? In any case, when I think Hawaii I think of grass skirts and tropical drinks so it's kind of hard to take them seriously anyway. Who designed their helmets??!?! The Keebler Elf?!?! |
