Watch a Bill Stewart Press Conference

If you watch the Bill Stewart press conference on Fox Sports Net, it tells a completely different story than what you might read about it in the paper.
At this week's conference he credited Cincinnati for stopping us, reminding everyone that he had warned this was the toughest defense we had faced yet. Because if there were anything that these press conferences have been good for, its been for making up excuses and not being accountable for coaching decisions.

He also gave the team credit (finally) for our big comeback in the last few minutes. If you watched the post-Auburn conference you would've heard the coach do nothing but give credit to Auburn and the upcoming UConn Huskies.
You might remember that in that press conference he also called our players dumb. I'm paraphrasing, but he said "If our players think we're just going to show up and win against Connecticut, they're dumber than I think they are."
He praised WVU's defense for being "accountable" but lets also think about accountability for our coaches. Who coaches special teams? Who is calling idiot offensive plays? Who is responsible for our recent defensive emergence?
Why laugh off the suggestion of finding someone to fill an Owen Schmitt role?
Noel Devine is an incredible runner on the outside, but he can't be expected to blast up the middle for 3rd and short plays.
Bill Stewart told his players that they couldn't hit the snooze button for the UConn game, they responded. Now it looks as if the coaches are having a problem staying awake.

For those out of the WV area, press conferences are available via MSNsportsNet's MountaineerTV, but you have to pay for the access to press conferences.
