Making a point about Newman should not involve other people's mothers as examples, no matter the caliber of persons you claim to be dealing with. If you meant to say you were influenced by Sam Newman, that's a cop-out. The only reason I find it so much to fun to argue with you is because of the patronizing manner in which you've dealt with anyone you think is wrong. People as intolerant as you make the world an uncomfortable place to live in :)

Thanks for the apology, which is accepted and appreciated. This has all been about criticising the sexist attitudes that underpin the support for Newman's antics. If others adopt that stance they have to accept being criticised.

This is ridiculous, that was the point of writing that, it was about how would you feel if that was said about someone close to you as a way of making you understand why Newman's antics hurt others. You obviously missed the point and there is no point in discussing this with you anymore.

Before you write your offensive remarks you should remember that real people are reading them. Your remarks are entirely inappropriate and just plain rude. If you comment on here you have a responsibility to be civil at least. Humour is fine, but what you wrote is just bad mannered.

Suggesting I don't have an ounce of intelligence? That's not something an established...no wait, elitist post-graduate should be saying. Because you're not intelligent until you have a degree in something? I'm glad you agree that I won, that's actually a decent point :) Although I noticed you didn't comment on the fact that you failed to reply to my requested discussion on this topic. Soft spot? OK, you think it is about 'winning' and you claim to be mature. And you try to defend the indefensible by asserting some sort of 'come on, the world isn't perfect' approach. On the 'use' of sexuality you didn't understand my point. Maybe you are too busy trying to 'win' an argument to understand one. And then you want 'evidence' for a statement that anyone with an ounce of intelligence would understand. I really don't have time for this undergraduate rubbish.

Uh, make me? I didn't say you raised sexual preferences, you *used* them, which makes you as 'bad' as Sam Newman. I won already. You just attempt to condescend me and give me advice on education, hah. In fact, I sent you a message requesting a mature discussion on this topic, which you never replied to. Who's more insightful?
