till the 1850s, artsax was 100% armenian, when the turkics migrated, this went down..95, 90%, in soviet times, the population was further reduced, armenians could not learn their language in school, churches were closed..many were kicked out (in naxichevan, the entire pop dissapeared) by the war in 1991, 85% of karabakh was still poplulated by the ancient armenians, so if 85% of the pop wanted self determination, is it 'legitimate' to consider that of the 15% of those who opposed? insignificant

the population of baku had alot of MUSLIMS..not necessarily azeris, many of them were persian diplomats and what ever, and yes there were azeris, but yerevan had a population of 20 thousand back then, so that means no more than say 5 thousand turkics lived in the city..(not alot)..there were more armenians living in baku than there were people in yerevan back then. and the turkic people of modern 'azerb' did not even consider themselves as a united azeri people, so saying 'azeris' is anachronism

there was no armenia before urartu, the modern name 'armenia' comes from one of the urartian tribes, the 'armens', in armenian we call ourselves, 'hay', from another tribe called the haiks, but our ancestors from any urartian tribe have lived in the caucasus for thousands of years. well considering there was no 'azeri nation' before world war one, just turkic nomads,

well considering that the population of karabakh was already 90% armenian, it's not like the armenians 'came in and killed civilians',it would make more sense if azeri soldiers walked in, and since there is a higher proportion of armenian civilians, more of them would die, and to be honest, if you could you would enter yerevan and massacre, but you can't, because we have the strongest army in the caucasus between you and our city

u r obviousely in denial.. people just didnt materialize out of nowhere... if you look at Yerevan's population at the end of 19th century it was prodominantly Azeri. U can continue toliving in denial. except when the when it catches up to you will be crying about another Stalin taking your land... that is a fate of facists

You talk a lot coming from a "country" and so-called "people" that did not even exist during WW1 LOL. So what are you again? tartars? iranians? turks? or even funnier...caucaisna albanian? LOL. If i were Iran, i'd sue your ass for stealing the name of their province
HyeFedayee13 (July 26, 2008 at 2:02 am)
No, we don't need to consider any Azeris. Like you said, they LIVED there... :) Now they live in railcars because your oil rich country does not want to provide for its citizens. And we've been "hugging" those territories for almost two decades now and we'll have them forever. We don't need to give anyone any argument. Stalin's divide and conquer policies of Armenian homeland will not stand.

hahahaha... before ww1? someone has to go learn some history... while u at it lear about how armenians came to caucasus and took over Urartu and claimed everything Urartu and as Armenian and no Karabakh for some reason became exclussively Armenian? so if u gonna talk history, learn it first!
