you OBVIOUSLY miss the point. best defense is an offense. Ernie really couldnt care less about what happened after he left as long as everyone was respectful and had fun. His philosophy "don't worry, man, it will all be fine!" He always landed on his feet. His recoveries were best after the craziest screw-ups! A true enigma.

There are a lot of great tributes done (and clips of the original shows)of Ghoulardi and The Ghoul. Be cool if "The Ghoul" answered the knock on the phone and told knifs how he was born as THE GHOUL? Toads rule ovah froggies like Ghoulardi rules ovah..Be great to see a documentary about the "GODFATHER OF FRIGHT NIGHTS" and HIS Offspring...seems the boom-booms ovah-dey blew up and off da main man, Ernie? Reading the comments seems apparent kids coming up in the mid-70's and forward are knifless.

i know all that, but i was obviously referring to this vid, which is of the ghoul's show. btw the bar has plenty of stuff about the ghoul in it as well as ghoulardi.
also, ernie was perfectly fine with sweed becoming the ghoul. now if only sweed remained ok with son of ghoul later on, right? but that too is another story.

I remember his fifth anniversary show aired on channel 50 in Detroit in (I think) 1976.
In one skit, he walked sideways onto the set with a toilet seat in front of his face. He stopped in the middle of the set, flipped the cover up and, with his face framed by the seat, screamed. Then he flipped the cover back down and continued walking sideways off the set.
He's putting a DVD together according to the website theghoulDOTcom. I hope he has some clips from that show on the DVD.

oooops..editing screwed the message up.....until he left for Hollywood and Ron asked Ernie if he could continue the show and Ernie said "NO, drop the "ARDI"

The original "GHOULARDI" was the pioneer of ALL horror hosts on TV, beginning in 1963. The restaurant is named after Ghoulardi. The Ghoul worked for Ghoulardi until he left "ARDI" and wasnt thinking Ron was serious but the rest is history. A couple of times Ron got scolded for coming tooooo close to the original...
