That isn't quite right, really. All three members of the Holy Trinity were there at the beginning. God created everything, Jesus was the Word that He used to speak everything into existence with, and the Holy Spirit was there giving and preserving life.

In the beggining he created all humans to speak in one language. But when the humans were building the tower of bable, they started making false idols and not glorifiying GOd for their works.
