i´ve seen a better kind of "shields"..
they´re cheaper, reusable, and you can use it for several aplications! mascara,as an eyeliner stencil, eye shadow, applying false eyelashes etc. everything that happens around the eye.. search for silcopad
it´s a german brand i guess

i think its a good idea especially if you use pigments cuz theyre so hard to get off! or glitters! omg thoes are esp hard to get off... how strong is that glue on the backing tho? i hope it doesnt cause baggage under your eye from pulling off thje shield
