yes it is, the paper is used as a marker, for example if you put it at 12 oclock on your record in line with the start of the sample your scratching with then you know that at 12 oclock on the record the start of the sample is there, this is commonly found in beat juggling etc. so you know where to move the record to, this will tell you where the kick drum, snare or hi hat is. so i do suggest that you do you research. n yes dj's do fill holes with paper but even an amateur knows that!!!!

ohhh wow... ok you've been playing out for years mixing house not scratching. Youre not a tablist obviously cuz if you were you wouldn't be in here talking shit and you would know that when your scratching vigourously you cant have that space between the hole or you got a higher chance of skippage
