You can view skid patch calculators online. I run 52x19 which gives me 19 skid patches on my tire. But keep in mind that some ratios might give you a good number of patches, but also might not give you enough gear inches to comfortably ride. Nobody looks cool spinning-out.

very good ! what do you think is the best ratio to save some more tire ? i just learned how to do the seated skids in the video and even though theyre very affective they slaughter my tires quick

You're not looking at the math here. One full rotation of your pedals does NOT equal a full rotation of your wheel. That's why gear ratios are so important to think about on a fixed gear bike. The lower the ratio, the more strokes during any given distance. Therefor, though you might only be skidding in two foot positions, that does not mean they always fall on the same place on your wheel.

as much as i support the scene, this person's comment is the most responsible one on here...can't deny that blowing stop signs, weaving through traffic, etc is absolutely dangerous. dont know why people don't just realize this instead of trying to be 'bad ass.'

Andy's just a real ripper, i mean, other than practice practice practice, there's no explanation... I got the DVD and i didn't appreciate his part the first time i watched it, now it's all i need for inspiration... his is the best.
