My bad... allow me to clarify. Ralph's solo efforts had guys like Rick Marotta and Steve Gadd. If I implied that IM was on Ralph's work, that's not what I meant. I was referring to "Mardi Gras" specifically.

You know, right after you made your comment, I listened to all of the IM cuts on BJ 1 and 2, as well as the SG cuts. Stuff like this has happened before(ascribing the wrong credit), intenionally and unintentionally. I will continue to investigate because you have piqued my interest. Buuut, your comment about IM(especially when he's not listed at all) on
the Ralph Macdonald cuts, made me really say
"What?!!" So now, I'm going to dissect those as well. Thanks for the insight.

Idris and Steve were both on this album. The drum sound isn't the same as Steve's, the snare was tighter and higher pitched... I say Idris and Ralph McDonald ("Jam On The Groove", "Calypso Breakdown") on the agogo bells (hi-lo cowbells). I've been wrong before, but my ears are usually good (30+ yrs musician/engineer/songwriter).

Do you have proof that it is IM on this cut because on the album is says SG. It does have a SG feel to it.
