Purchase the Chad Wackerman recording "40 Reasons" from his official website to own this and many other fantastic songs for an extremely reasonable price. Don't be shy: google. "Released in 1992, this is ...[from]... an instructional video that also includes about 40 minutes of Allan and his band playing several songs." (quoting the former website from whence this video came.) The band consists of Steve Hunt (k), Skúli Sverrisson (b), and Chad Wackerman (d)."

Hmm I know we have to move on and grow as musicians but I find Allans playing so much more exciting back in the soft machine era. just my opinion youunderstand. Also hasa he done an album of acoustic guitar? If he han't he should cos the acoustic work i've heard like on velvet darkness and with Gordon Beck is just wonderful

Years ago, way back then, I didn't appreciate Holdsworth's stuffs/style... and upon enjoying albums of Flower kings these past few months, this song now caught my attention...

Given that your favourite film is star wars and you watch history channel, its safe to assume you have imagination and a curious mind. Go and study a bit a bit of harmony and counterpoint and while you at it, read up on the French Pontillism movement. Do that then come back and discuss this music....

one day you'll understand. After the progressions used in popular music butchered time and again by "new" artists its great to hear something that sounds different. You've never heard something like this and that's the point. Its a fresh expression of beauty. Remember that many said the same of Picasso and Dali in their day but now their work is both understood and cherished. Take care.

After a while real musos get fed up with conformation.I'm happy to just play easy stuff...what's easy to me anyway. The likes of McLaughlin,Beck and Holdsworth are driven by different hormones. Music needs them. The rappers are already sampling Abercrombie! Dear me! Oh dear oh dear oh dear..Love you all by the way

not bad for a guy with half a guitar. Somebody mixed up "ham" with "Stiein" and thought it was edible I suppose. Still "Ham""Stein"...a lapsed Jews' toast? Oscar and Hammerstein seemed to get away with it. Am I being too oblique? Steinberger...?

That's exactly how I feel when I hear Motley Crue and similar bands. As well as embarrassed for them and their fans. Still, I understand that different music makes different people happy and try not to judge someone with tastes that differ from mine too harshly.

Do you mean that you don't like jazz? Just curious.
