In my view there's not one contributing factor just percentage and human activity really is at the bottom of the percentage scale. That said malnutrition I'd choose for this can weaken a human body creating a more acceptable vessel for disease, along with angry individuals. Excluding HIV.

Compare Mars to Earth, position from the sun, surface temperatures based on season along with humidity. Don't negative sun cycles, water vapor, or bodies in space that are major contributing factors to climate and natural disasters. Don't forget the past periods of the world, water planet Cretaceous era.
The problem becomes exceedingly great for climate change. Something "us" as humanoids cannot contribute too successfully until the world vanquishes for mankind, a little sarcasm.

People shouldn´t be pulled out of poverty, the not poor people should be pulled into poverty. The earth cannot cope with everyone on it living like dutch people do now.

Saving the life of every sick person on Earth, and making every 3rd world country into a western economy seems like a great idea if you think the globe can handle a population of 20 billion Walmart shoppers. Malnutrition, war, migration, disease etc. are directly tied to environmental concerns IN THE FIRST PLACE!
I paraphrase Will Smith from I Robot, "This is the dumbest smart person I've ever seen".

In the US, though, it was mostly a bad thing because anti-environmentalism was already so rampant; Lomborg told everyone (or at least the fools at The Economist and the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Times, and the real estate developers, and the manufacturers, and all the NASCAR tards..) exactly what they wanted to hear. After that the criticism might as well have been wind blowing across a desert somewhere.
FunnyDigestion (August 20, 2008 at 5:38 am)
The Skeptical Environmentalist was a great thing in a way but also a horrible thing. Great because it stirred so much discussion about environmental problems and prompted a lot of scientists to bring their knowledge and arguments to the larger public. Horrible because all the neoliberal economic people read it as perfect scientific Gospel proof that they were right and environmentalism was wrong, and refused to hear all the rebuttal and criticism that followed it.
