i know u cant graple around on the ground while 3 people kicks u on the head but if there is more than 1 attacker then i would obviously try to keep the fight standing and try to get away BUT if i end up on the ground i have a much better chance at getting up fast because of the ground training compared to somebody who has only trained muay thai etc. in order to keep the fight standing its important to also know how to avoid going to the ground and how to get up fast if it happens

thank you for the tip, but no thank you, i'd rather stick to muay thai and thanks that you compliment my maturity. But come on in a real street fight where you got to fight multiple enemies at once, how can you manage to start grappling around? the main goal in street fighting is to buy yourself time by knocking people out(or getting him out of the way) as quick as possible. I agree with you that grappling can be useful in 1on1 fights such as ufc, but most likely people would gang up on someone

Sheikkailija- you've been seeing too many movies... and has been involved in too many different arts. regardless of what every master says. just try out your skills on the street. or in an mma competition. my bet is you WONT survive. your juz for show. but i do respect what youve been through.
MuayThaiViking (October 11, 2008 at 2:07 pm)
well u are still wrong it depends on what martial art we are talking about
MuayThaiViking (October 11, 2008 at 1:59 pm)
u dont favor grapling and u recommend elbows strikes. so that excludes ALL martial arts and leave only muay thai? you are very close minded it could have been many arts congratz u train may thai and u are not a viking (very mature to use my accountname in this discussion!) i was like you 5months ago. 'grapling sucks ill just give em a knee and finish with elbow and thats it' thats until i tried MMA and felt the real difference instead of actting tough on youtube. you should try it urself
