kate13579 (May 6, 2008 at 3:01 am)
I do the Penobscot every year, at least for the past five years now. Its one of the most fun things i get do all year. The rapids are crazy fun, and they can really beat you up...i speak from experience!

RE: What class would be well suited for my two boy who are great swimmers and can tread water? Ages 8 & 12
CLASS I & II for the 8YO maybe III for the 12.
13 is the cut-off age for upper river runs on the Kennebec & Penobscot.
Ands, ALWAYS have them wear good life jackets in any water over a I. |
