Well, ALW didn't direct the video per se, but he did come up with the idea of releasing the song as a single; it did well, of course.
As an additional note, the one who directed the video was Mr. "The Devils" himself, Ken Russell! (This video is how I got introduced to Russell's work.)

I think it's awesome. It has a more 'raw' feel to it. Less special effect, plastic bodies, boobs out, fake platinum hair, than the stuff done today.
I think it's simple yet it's interesting and a bit 'strange' which is refreshing.

This was done by ALW in the 80´s, this was made before the play, it was to see if people liked it, and it became a big hit. Sarah Brightman is the original Christine, ALW wrote the music for her, and she starred in the play, with Michael Crawford and Steve Barton. I don´t think this is a bad video, just not something we are used to see now, this video was made in the 80´s. |
