what one does in the studio (once) is significantly less impressive than what one can pull of night after night for decades... Gillian is an amazing singer... but Ted is and will always be JC Superstar

Georgian, its Ted's voice in the movie. get over it.

comment2: But the main task is, that Ian Gillan is considered (NOT ONLY BY ME) to be the greatest singer for JCS. Even film director asked him to play Jesus...
And I repeat: You know, It is Ian Gillan, who sings in 1973 film version, not Ted. Ted is only actor there...

You're just a nervous and stupid person.
Ok, i made a mistake, It wasn't Webber who decided to capture the musical as a film. But anyway, the director of the film asked Gillan to play Jesus, coz he knew who would play better... Sadly, Gillan had to refuse and only after, director decided to invite Ted.
Are you crazy? I'm fan of Ted, he has a huge vocal range and he is awesome actor.Watch even JCS 2002 version, ted sings amazingly.

Webber hadnothing to do with the film, stop making stuff up as you go along.Did you just say that Ted was lip syncing in the film? OMFG LMAO.I'm just going to ignore you now, you're making stuff up as you go.Webber had nothing to do with the film, it was completely handled in America out of his hands, the way he wanted the film originally to be wasn't even taken into consideration. Ian Gillan did the conceptalbum, that was it. He did nothing further. So yeah, ignoring you now, for making shit up.

And then, Webber decided to ask Ted Neeley to replace Gillan, but only in film.
What about soundtrack, you know, in 1973 film, this is not Ted who sings Jesus, Webber used Gillan's version for the film and Ted was just an actor...
And Ted's version was used ONLY after JCS went on tour with Ted...
Webber knew who sohould sing Jesus - It was Ian Gillan, on the album and in the 1973 film.

Sure, Gillan did it once in a studio, but accept it: Andrew Lloyd Webber was the man who did such great musical, but Ian Gillan was the man, who made Jesus itself and the whole musical to become so popular, coz Gillan did his job Fantastically. can you imagine, what would happen, if Glen Carter had sang as a Jesus in the originaL? surely, only few would notice JSC.
Gillan was asked to play Jesus in 1973, but Deep Purple was on tour then, and Gillan had to refuse proposal.

Greatest vocal falsetto in rock music (not including rock operas seeing as he never actually performed in one) - not musicals, opera, and any other genre of music. There are hundreds of talented singers who can notes higher and better than Gillan.

Nearly has sung the way he does his whole life.
He's phenomenal talent, why can't you admit that? At least I can accept Gillan as a fantastic singer, just in MY OPINION, he's not the best Jesus, because he did it ONCE, in a studio. Neeley has been touring for 30 odd years, he's starred in 4 musical shows. Who cares if Gillan toured like a rockstar and fucked his voice up, Neeley didn't, which is why he's a better singer today, and IN MY OPINION always has been. Learn what 'in my opinion' means.

Have you listened to Gillan's falsseto from Made In Japan's track: "Strange Kind Of Woman"?
Have you listened to Child In Time from Concerto 1969?
Listen them, and then beleive me, you won't even try to compare Gillan to Ted...
Ian Gillan Is the best falsetto master and he sings Gethsemane far more emotionally, than Ted. And also 1 subject: Listen to Gethsemane's studi version by Ted, he ABSOLUTELLY tries to sing simmiliar to Ian... |
