John did change the world, latinachic. The Beatles changed the world. Music CAN change the world. It can cheer us up on a bad day, give us hope, help us heal, give us a reason to still have faith in others. It's a powerful thing, and Lennon and The Beatles together and individually contributed a bigger piece of music than anyone in history. And even as they die, their music never will.
