@ kettleriv: my favourite boxer of that time was not Cassius Clay, not Sonny Liston but the great, great Floyd Patterson who was the first to break the " they never come back" law. He was the one getting his Champion title back from swedisch Ingemar Johannson. Sorry, if I was out of tune... nice play, nice song - nevertheless....

who was the bigger victim of racism? Clay grew up in an intact middle class family.Well, we know about sonny. Clay with his White men are all devil comments. hpug, as Tosches indicated, Clay was not in on the fix in either fight but his Moslem handlers made sure Sonny didn't get any silly ideas about keeping the title he worked so hard to get.
