I'm a distant relative of the drumer Derrick Mckenzie, met him in 1980 when he was an unemployed "yout" in London. I was well young but thing I do remember is that he always played the drums. 15 year later and he's part of one of the biggest,classliest band of the 90's the mix of rare groove, acid jazz with retro soul outlasted all their contemporaries of the time including the Brand New Heavies.
