Anyone who keeps saying or thinking this song is about an abortion is wrong. It's about getting out of an abusive relationship. In the song she says that "he" said he fell while holding diamonds in his hands. Which means his hands are red and bruised and then she refers to herself as the "diamond" saying she'll be better off to sparkle on her own. There's been a few times that she told herself she was gonna leave but ended up staying but eventually she finally left.

When she re-released Wreck of the Day with two new tracks, I thought I would hate them, but they are just as good as the orignal album.
