joinjoyjoy It's precisely because your generation(FWIW I am 40)can't find it's ass in a phonebooth *even when brightly lit* about music and many other things that you're here regurgitating tripe like suggesting the Carpenters are competable with from the likes of Sonic Youth. The Carpenters sound is IMMEDIATELY evocative of the decade it's from. There's much of music that defines in ways like that. Today's stuff can't compete if given a head start.Bubblegum for the brain of the NOW generation.

How old are you 42. You would have been in your 20s when sonic youth formed. I'd actually say that they're part of your generation. Sonic Youth Formed in 1981 thats 27 years ago. What Desperate generation are you referring to? I'm 19 years old! I wasn't born when sonic youth began. I listen to sonic youth and I listen to the carpenters as probably everybody does. Your just sheltered and sad. Great music isn't defined by it's age or generation.
