I agree about PP Arnold's version. For me that is brilliant. Linda Ronstadt has a great voice and does it real justice too.

Have none of you ever heard PP Arnold's version of this song? Easily the best rendition - she sings it with total passion and commitment, and makes it her own. I do love this Linda Ronstadt version, but PPs vocals combined with those drums... amazing.

I agree care0525.That's how versatile Linda is.

While nothing will ever beat the orginal by Cat Stevens, Linda's is certainly the best cover I've heard, and she sang it at a Cat Stevens concert! I remember when the concert first aired on TV in 1973. Stayed up late to watch it. I do hope this concert makes an official release some day. It doesn't deserve to sit in a vault somewhere gathering dust.

I'm really surprised she never put this on one of her 70s Albums. She totslly kicks ass on it!

Sheryl Crow is such a syrupy, insincere "media event" it makes me sick to my stomach - Linda flat-out obliterates her...

To 2rainbowed: I agree w/you...Linda Ronstadt has got to have the BEST VOICE EVER!!! Cannot understand why she has NOT been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. |
