An angry WVU Coach Don Nehlen voices his displeasure over a heart-breaking 20-17 home loss to Syracuse after a controversial brawl & phantom pass interference call allowed the Orangemen to stave off the upset bid. WVU's 1993 team exacted its revenge by walloping the Orange 49-0 in the Carrier Dome while going 11-1.

Marvin Graves: The worst product of Syracuse U since Tony Caridi.

I grew up in WV during the Nehlen era. He put Mountaineer on the map. Coach Rod is going to take us to higher levels though. I love that book. You get chills reading it.

Tommy hit him in bounds.

You don't know what you are talking about. That was no cheap shot! I was there at that game. The whole thing happened right in front of me. Tommy Orr made a clean hit on Marvin Graves. The only guys tossed out of the game were WVU players. The guy who started it (Graves) stayed in the game. It was a pathetic call and darned poor officiating!!!

What a cheap shot by West Virginia. You don't hit a quarterback five yards out of bounds. He deserved to have a football drilled in his helmet for pulling that crap!

Don Nehlen was a great program builder. WVU fans need to read his book about how he helped get WVU football on the map. Sure, he lost more than his share of bowl games. But don't forget the great wins, and two undefeated seasons they had.

Did Marvin Graves get suspended for this at all? If not, how long do you think he should have been suspended?

(cont'd)He had several big win when they were BIG underdogs...'81 peach bowl WVU 26 FLA 6,...'84 Bluebonnet Bowl WVU 31 TCU 14...'83 beat #9 Okla in Norman, beat #4Pitt at home..'84 beat Penn St. 1st timw since 1955!! etc. He brought the Flying WV logo to WVU...I just think he needs to be remembered for more than his bowl losses, thats all ..I'll say no more but GO Mountaineers!!

Sorry ' bout the flaming ,tauras, but being a tru- blue 'eers fan I just had to respond.. You probably don't remember the old days at old mountaineer field, with the wrinkled up carpet(on the field) or losing to teams like Richmond or VMI, back in the days of Danny Buggs or Kerry Marbury?, but I do, and all that changed when Nehlen came to town..cause he was mountaineer 100%

I forgot to mention that Doug Flutie never beat WVU in 4 yrs. of trying...Hell Bobby Bowden didn't even have a winning record at WVU!!! Coach Nehlen built not only the facilities at WVU, but also the foundation for making WVU football what it is today....I'm sorry to say that not only are you ignorant about your ranting, but that you are also a DICK!! By the way who is your coach and team..there tore-ass!! If you want to know more about Coach Nehlen accolades...look it up bud!!!..LOL
