This project was created to inspire teachers to use technology in engaging ways to help students develop higher level thinking skills. Equally important, it serves to motivate district level leaders to provide teachers with the tools and training to do so.

Quite engaging but where is student's contributing in this process?

I'm willing to bet there's only going to be more English speakers because there's more of them. And because China is culturally inclined to compete, which today means conducting business internationally. And because that statistic does not take into account bilingual immigrants to the U.S.

How is using digital media engaging? Digital media is becoming synonymous with isolation, not engagement. What is wrong with reading a physical book, as opposed to reading it on a webpage? Access? That is why libraries were built. Students don't need to be taught how to use technology, they need to be taught not to rely on it. Technology is a valuable tool, but digital media is consuming every aspect of our lives. What do you learn from 16 hours of TV, 3 hours of gaming? Nothing.

How can I get this to show to my teachers??!!

I teach in a school like this as well! Grants? Microsoft has granted money for technology to school systems, maybe this could be a way . What should happen is equal distribution of school funding not title -1 funding and not by the taxes within each school district or even worse donations ;meaning affluent areas have tons of resources and poorer areas less .This is supposed to be PUBLIC school!

This is a very important point. All this technology is expensive. This is another way schools with money out perform those without.

I am an educator at school where almost half of the students are low income. I'd like to know how to engage students in things like podcasts, Wikis, blogs, and other electronic media when I have to share two computer labs with more than 100 other teachers and their students. The video has a great message, but if we truly want to reach these 21st century learners, communities need to start by supporting schools.

I would be willing to bet they don't speak it as well as we do.
