http://www.ted.com After four days of intense discussion on aid versus trade at TEDGlobal 2007, it was up to Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the former Finance Minister of Nigeria, to sum up. She asks for the discussion to continue, and to grow more sophisticated, more nuanced. And she brilliantly refocuses the concept of aid from westernized nations: As she points out, these other countries could not have been built without aid from Africa. When the US or the UK gives aid, she says, what they are really doing is giving *back.*

ah ah!!Sister Carol, that's a bit harsh..I mean I think we as Nigerians need to appreciate what this woman has done for the country's debt. I mean she was actually the 'Vice President' of the World Bank before she became minister of finance in Nigeria. Now.. how do we expect someone with that sort of experience to work for the country and be paid less than she was, I mean its not done in any institution! By the way her salary was partly funded by the world bank!!! So please let's appreciate her!

who is she kidding for heaven's sake. she was part of a corrupt government who paid her salary in foreign currency. I bet she thinks we nigerians are fools who cannot see thru her. Thieves, God will surely punish u lot when the time comes.
