Loved this, got new little chop out of it! Aha getting that slap! I practiced this for hundreds of hours. The best tip I can give is; does not take as much pressure as you think, actually the more relaxed the hand is at the right angle close to the head, the nicer the pop, and no injuries. Of course the tuning on you quinto, and the thickness of skin matters too. Too thin a skin gets ringy. Lot's of cheater ways to slap, learn the correct way! Takes time and practice! Aloha!

For the life of me, I can't get that slap to happen anywhere close to what guys like this produce. Its such an important accent, and I haven't figured it out yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

this is too fast for a beginner to learn. A lot of showing off than actual lesson.
