There's no reason to be dismissive of modern music to love T. Rex. Let's face it, they weren't some sort of amazing groundbreaking band...they were simply one of the best examples of the well-tested rock 'n' roll art form. There were great bands before T. Rex and great bands afterwards. Certainly, T. Rex remains one of the best of all time.
