The philosophical issues are more important than issues of practicality. My government has no constitutional authority to regulate this aspect of trade. Nothing else needs to be said. They are breaking their contract with the American people.

You say Americans have to use these globes by 2014, you're slow, we have to use them by 2010 here in Australia where I live, this guy is taking things too far, I already use these globes in my house and have had no problems with them. Who cares if the globes aren't mad in the USA, my CFL's are made in China, but I don't care as long as they work. If it weren't for Thomas Edison, we wouldn't have CFL's. Calm Down and actually use one of these globes, you won't regret it.

Flourescents are better non stop. Heating your home with gas is more energy efficient then using electricity because even the best power stations aren't over 70% efficient and then you have the energy loss in the polyons. So even if it's a cold climate they're still better.. But yeah, even worse if your in a hot climate and using aircon.

I think this is stupid we are going to get energy efficient light bulbs that are toxic and waste just as much energy as they save we have to put them in not one but TWO plastic bags which are petrolium products
LED is what we need to focus on i read years ago that someone had found these little dots that when put on an LED make the light turn white so why arent we focusing on theese light bulbs that never need to be replaced????
