Obnoxious drunk doesn't get the picture until about the 5th time he gets shocked. Also - to the "police brutality" crowd - are you watching the same video? This is a state trooper in a rural post, his backup could be anywhere from 10-30 minutes away and probably from a different agency. Would you really want to get in to a physical struggle with someone if you have a tool at your disposal that will take care of the problem? Should you roll around and fight with the guy on the ground while trying to retain your firearm? The reason the guy keeps getting shocked is simple - he refuses to comply and keeps attempting to stand up and get back in his vehicle. Please... get a clue already.

To all the "OMG thats torcher!" comments, you all should be thankfull that if you get drunk and that the alchole in your system decides to wrestle a police officer, that he doesnt pull out his 9MM, which would kill you! and instead shocks you with a couple thousand volts and can lock you up for being a stupid ass for drinking and driving when a LAW clearly stats that its illegal to drink and drive.

I LOVE TASERS. this is the most effective non-lethel way of takin people down. ALL YOU IDIOTS WHO THINK THAT US COPS HAVE BETTER METHODS JUST REMEBER THAT YOU COULD HAVE BEEN SHOT.

Yeah I would not want to fight with him. You cant talk to drunks and they are hard to fight with. I have used pepper spray on a drunk before and he was totally compliant after being sprayed.

Yup... Circleville Post is out in the sticks. The closest backup was probably 10-30 minutes away and possibly from a different agency. I don't know about you, but if I'm the trooper, I'm not looking to get in to a physical altercation with some jackass if I don't have to.
