Hey, I love Larry Holmes. I do think he had the opportunity to become a better fighter then Marciano and took it (i.e. Larry had better guys to beat), and there is no doubt he deserves this honor. My only problem is George Foreman is a legend too. In my opinion, along with Larry, one of the top 10, if not top 5 heavyweights of all time. People ignore the amount of fortitude it took to win against Moorer, and Foreman deserves alot of credit too. So I thought Larry made a good speech but the attack on Foreman was not necessary. In fact, I believe it may be a cook up for some sort of Foreman-Holmes showdown.

I think that Larry Holmes would outbox George Foreman comfortably 8 or 9 fights in 10 and most people that know boxing would probably say the same. With his power George would always have a punchers chance. But if Shavers couldnt stop Holmes despite catching Larry clean then I dont think George could. Larry was certainly passionate whilst delivering his speech. I think he was feeding of the energy from the crowd and he doesnt need much encouragement to go off on one! lol Great Champion!!

Larry could personally find a cure for cancer and folks like those posting below me will still find fault in Larry Holmes. When he was champ, he was boring. Now that he's a free spirit and saying what he thinks he's classless? God bless Larry Holmes for shining the light of truth upon George Foreman. THe dude was Heavyweight champ for 6.5 years, he's earned to right to say whatever thell he wants.

Foreman was not really in his prime then, altho he was still young. Not at his peak anyway.

I like watching Holmes fights, but this is pretty pathetic. Look at all the built-up anger. He's getting inducted and all he does is yap about others....Ali, Foreman, Holyfield, Tyson. That's not a professional if you ask me. Imagine how people will look at him after they see this induction. It won't change from their current opinions.
