Also if you are barely going into the BF series, I would get 2142 instead of 2. Mainly because people have gotten so far along the game its near impossible to top the charts in specific areas. For example jet raping. I tried owning the jets but their is always a jet raper in every server. Its hard to practice on thing when people 10 times better than you is already their. In 2142 this is not the case since its a bit more balanced.

Wow, bring in the battlewalkers and they will dominate. However I would like to see an F-22 raptor go up against an EU gunship. :D interesting dog fight.

I know what you mean about 2142's friend list, it really helped. i can't see EA doing a patch for BF2 to do it, but you could try XFire, that lets you see what game your friends are playing and what server they're on etc, that might help.

I love playing Battlefield 2142 for the teamwork and the friends list. I feel that Battlefield 2 should have a patch adding a friends list, then it would be much more fun to play with my friends. A lot of people I know play Call of Duty 4, i haven't gotten it yet, i play Battlefield 2 instead. COD4 and BF2 are mostly same weapons, but no customization on BF2, and BF2 is a classic.

You might want to try a manual update for Punkbuster if you haven't already tried it, it's happened to me once or twice but a manual update sorted it out.
