Mickey Dolenz reminds me of Kevin McDonald from "Kids In the Hall".

no, the desire to become big didn't start the drugs in my point of view. they were a lot like the monkees at the beginning. the fact that such huge, crazy worldwide fame had been set upon them, in my opinion, was what started all the drugs. none of us were one of the beatles, so we wouldn't know. (unless tehre is beatle reading this, then plz message me and we can email or u can drop by or something! lolz)

Interesting points of view. I suppose (regarding the Beatles) the continued desire to become bigger and the emptiness when that didn't satisfy, probably led to their drugs and whack out eastern/self worship stuff.
And I'm not saying the Monkees were free from that. I don't care that much to do the research. Just that there's a joy and a "I don't take myself too seriously" aspect to what I know of their music that the Beatles lost. And so I'd just rather eat from that restaurant.

regardless of the choices and lives of the beatles, their music is good. just because some people may say that they were freaky or whatever, that shouldn't reflect on the musical outcome. they were a great band.

Bands who write their own songs often become strange, because they have to experience strange things to give them ideas. They're still worth listening to. Play Abbey Road, the Beatles last true album, and tell me that it's "strange" and not worth hearing. |
