I've taken a couple classes, but I'm far from an expert. I'm just going on what I've read in textbooks from classes I've taken, in which they've said its inconclusive.

it may not be spelled out word for wored in the glyphs they can find, but if you have any understanding of ancient mayan creation myths and their mystical understanding of the world, the winners being sacrificed is simply what makes sense.

I'm Mexican and i used to live between Mexico city and Acapulco, recently a friend of mine who lives for about 30 miles away from my city found some kind of ancient idol figure very very similar to the mayan style and there are even some ruins in a place called Xochipala in Guerrero state, this ruins are maya stile building, for sure long long time ago maya's left their city's to come to this part or other civilization had communication with them!

I thought this information was still up in the air over what happened, there's really no definitive answer. They're not sure if it was the winners or the losers who were sacrificed. They're not even sure if it was the whole team who was sacrificed, or just the captain. I agree though that she shouldn't sound so definitive in her answer when its really not known what actually happened.

The audio information is wrong!!!! somebody change it. The winnerS of the "game of ball" were sacrificed. It was an honor.

Whoever said the "Aztec(Their proper name is MEXICA)" calendar came before the Maya calendar is misinformed. The Mexica had not even attained civilization when the Maya calendar was invented. It is also widely known that the Mexica drew influence from other civilizations, including the Maya. And many elements of the Mexica calendar is derived from the Maya calendar. Also learn to use "they're" and also learn meso americans aren't interchangeable racist.
