He bumped up the aperture too so more of the background was in focus it made the picture look shittier. Did he think photographer's wouldn't notice that kinda stuff?

Well it's wierd at the end that why he uses a slower shutter speed, that would've helped the directly flashed scene too :P

rmstudio, the Lightsphere is no rip off... It is a great device for on the fly (non-studio) photography. I agree that a similar effect can be achieved by using other devices, but the Lightsphere diffuser is an effective device that produces great results. To those of you out there who are wondering about this product, it is definitely worth the investment! whether you are a pro or not.

Check out the Lambency knock-off version of his overpriced pieces of plastic. They are cheap as hell (Gary Fongs are a masterpiece of marketing. A device that costs $.35 to produce and is sold for HOW much??). I have not seen or held one personally, but if they fit the same and work as well, it will push Gary's overpriced plasic products off the market.

Okay from reading below I can tell you "Beginners" are not the most informed people to give a product endorsements. First let me tell you this thing is such a rip off gimmick! TV informmercial plastic junk. Any working pro that has been around any length of time will tell you its a total waste. You can use a omni dome or bounce card for the same effect and those items wont look like toilet bowl on your flash and will fit in your camera bag.
