People are never satisfied. Law enforcement officials all over the world are vilified. When they used force people the claim is made they violated the persons civil rights and when they tactically retreat it is assumed they were afraid. In reality, in this situation, if the police would have tased him they would have been accused of police brutality. If they maced him it would have been considered inhumane. If they shot him the public would have been outraged claiming excessive force...

...No matter the outcome police face a losing battle. But, understand the individual in this situation had a weapon, he disrupted public order, threatened public safety and failed to obey a lawful order from a law enforcement official. He should have been dealt with swiftly and vigorously—i.e. maced, tased or shot.
