Seems like during my childhood we knew how to turn the TV and Nintendo off to go outside.
I pointed out to one of my friends recently that black car commercials are always at night, were always about to go hit the town, always at play. BUT on the flipside, truck commercials during football games always have some "man's man" narration with the marlboro man working. One the one hand, its just what advertising is about, but for us black folk I guess the stereotypes are more obvious.

The American Academy of Pediatrics says kids
under two years of age should not be allowed to watch any TV because it adversely affects
development of the brain. A 2001 Stanford
University study showed 3 and 4-year old kids in a control group having limited TV viewing experienced a 50% decrease in verbal aggression and a 40% decrease in physical aggression. Don't expect the media to make
parents aware of TV's negative influence on
kids.

mothers, get out the house. Take your baby to the park. Cook some good food. Give him fruits for snacks.Play, laugh and think with your baby. explain instead of shutting him up.Have fun with your kid! please let him have his dad! Don't call him "bad" or a " home wrecker" when he can bearly walk. Oh, let's not forget: Breastfeed your baby before he developped the personnality and body of a cow!
