no because the light coming from the projector would be blocked by the enclosure

But yea i guess it depends on what bulb you are using.. the higher lumens the lower lifetime.. i was searching around and found a bulb with only 12 hour lifetime, but also ones with alot more

No i have not done it myself yet, but i have an overhead projector ready for the purpose. I will start build one when i move into my new apartment. 50 hours lifetime for a bulb? They usually last for 10000+ hours. try google "400w bulb hours"

I have an LCD and can get a projector, cheap. But how do you hook up the LCD to the video source?

u place it on some kind a projector... but... maybe you also can place the hole lcd tv or antother tv on that projector.. without opening it..
