I had an infection when i first had my ears pireced. My grandma(she was a nurse)told me to keep the earing in. This keeps the wound from healing shut trapping the infection inside. While at the same time acting as a drainage system. Under no circumstances must one try to pop the cyst, as it can lead to infection of the surrounding tissue. The neck is a particularly dangerous region, due to the glands and blood vessels. It can cause staph infection..and so on. Happy Poping!!

That's a cyst. It's cause by a number of things, like nutritional deficiencies and such, but has nothing to do with infection.
