Explaining the disaster that a Democracy can become, Karl Marx, known as the 'Father of Communism' and himself a student of political science, stated: 'Democracy is a form of government that cannot long survive, for as soon as the people learn that they have a voice in the fiscal policies of the government, they will move to vote for themselves all the money in the treasury and bankrupt the nation.' Democracy is two ravenous wolves and one sheep voting on what to have for breakfast.

"A democracy is a volcano which conceals the fiery materials of its own destruction. These will produce an eruption and carry desolation in their way.... The known propensity of a democracy is to licentiousness [excessive license] which the ambitious call, and ignorant believe to be liberty." - Fisher Ames, Author of the House Language for the First Amendment

We are a Republic, and we have a Constitution. Study the Constitution. Defend the Constitution. Teach it to other people. It's impossible to be effective citizens if we don't understand these things. The DEMOCRACY SCHOOLS are exactly what we need. We should ALL be doing this.

Your right and your wrong. We are suppose to be a democratic republic we are now a corporate republic on the verge of fascist dictatorship. Our constitutionally limited democratic republic was designed to limit "mob rule". The disorganized mob of "We the People" is of little danger. The well organized group can pose a threat of tyrannical rule. The "checks and balances" of our republic is to limit the power of organized thugs, like the fascist Neo-Cons.
