Anybody who puts down john scofield is dumb. Anybody who puts down jazz is dumb. If you can't understand it, then you're just not ready. I'm sorry - different people like different music, but the intelligence and instrumental prowess demanded by the live jazz scene of today (and yeasterday) shows more musical competence than any of the old rock greats' - most of whom owe their goodness to jazz artists as well -illegitimate copies that roam the earth today could wish to have.
