This teaching is accepted by all four major schools in Sunni islam as welll as the Shia. The verse in Chapter 2 regarding no 'compulsion in religion' is considered to have been abrogated by subsequent verses. Islam is a dualistic construct that is designed to change in character as the muslim community increases in size and strength; i.e., Start with Mecca, end with Medina.

sanamdachiller, i think i posted that months ago and i have no clue what i said. a lot has changed since then. But I see that both sides of this conflict have been led by propaganda and no one will win. Also how can a "Surge" work when over 100,000 Iraqi people are dead?? thats not good results, thats not even acceptable. I hate war and have never gotten into a fight in my life. We should be visiting distant planets by now. We keep fighting eachother when the real enemy could be lurking in space

now that is wrong my dad has a buisness which helps english ppl n only english ppl i wont tell u wot buissness n where as that would be like tellin u my adress basically nyway hes raised me n my family up to never be violent never swear at nyone n told us never ta hang wiv the wrong crowd n thats wot we r like

the only thing it says about you is that you are human, and your heart is good, and that you do not believe that people who leave islam should die or goto hell and loose their skin etc. etc... it only means you do not fully believe the quran and that you disagree with several aya's that can not be interperated differently then they are. it means you took the good out of islam (and there is good) but a full believer in the quran you are not.

well if believe that apostates dont deserve death n that make me a non muslim so be it i wos born in to a muslim house i believe im a muslim n i dont care about nyfin else i have a lot of english freinds chritian freinds and other cultureed freinds i bond well with them ma freinds cum ta ma house same wiv the rest of ma family we dont care who they are wat religion they r there still ppl though aint they n i also get on more wiv non muslims than muslims does that mean i deserve to be killed too!

you can check the quran it is very specific and clear.3:72, 3:90, 4:94, 4:115, 4:137, 5:54, 16:106. you must believe apostates deserve death you must believe non muslims must convert or die. or else you are not a muslim.
