Penglaz the Penzance 'Obby 'Oss

Penglaz is the town 'Obby 'Oss of Penzance, Cornwall UK. Appearing at Midsummer (Golowan) and at Midwinter (Montol) she represents the seasonal death rebirth energies. She is led by the 'Teazer' known locally as The Bucca -- a Cornish Pagan deity of light and dark aspect who presides over these seasonal energies being at Midsummer Bucca Gwidder (the white god) and at Midwinter Bucca Dhu (the black god). A tradition surrounded in secrecy and jealously guarded by the Penzance folk.
