i agree with u on the acoustic part, but skynyrds voice just brings out the words and feeling of the song much butter..and dont get me wrong Shinedown is a really awesome band i love there music.. but yet again its all in the persons taste of music ;)

I really like and respect skynyrd, and there music is great. But personally I like shinedown's version a little bit better. I believe the way he sings and the single instrumentation acoustic capture the mood of the lyrics better. Both are amazing.

Try Free Bird. Just the greatest Music I once have heard. The damn best song with the damn best solo ever been made ;) Kill me if I'm wrong, but that 4 mins solo could kill anyone of pure amazement. Its worth it ;D
