Well saying OS X is better than Linux is debatable. I don't think this is the right place to start discussing that though but I do see your point.

The low number of video cards is mostly because Macs use EFI instead of BIOS. PCs will all use EFI eventually since it's a far better standard, and as it becomes more popular you'll see more video cards for the Mac.

Yeah OS X is very similar to Linux in many ways, being a Unix derivative. I really like it because you get the best of both worlds, a decent Unix core and excellent GUI and apps. It's also nice not to have to piss about with library dependencies and compiling stuff, it just works :)

Well I've done some research and I stand corrected. OSX handles paging and swapping almost exactly as Linux. I thought it handled it more like Microsoft. Which makes sense because it like Linux it's a "branch" off Unix. Now that I think about it I bet they're more alike then I previously thought they were about other things as well.

Multiple paging files huh? So each app gets it own? What about the OS's paging file can you access that? |
