Im 15 years old, and my mum has this on tape. i found it in a box and shoved it in, thinking "Ohh i bet this is going to be really cheesy!" but, WOW was all i could say. This skate was just... outstanding. it sent chills up my spine. Torvill+Dean are the bomb 3!

Here I am, again, watching these great postings. I have loved a followed figure skating for so long. Does anybody know if TD have ever visited this site? Here we all are, throwing out our opinions and talking about them. Wish they could see our comments. I don't know how to contact them, and as a basically shy person I wouldn't, but somehow I hope they could see this....

Wow - Thanks for posting this! I was luck enough to see this in '84 broadcast live and it was absolutely awesome. It still sends shivers up my spine even now - maybe not as technically brilliant as some might say but to this day I have never seen a piece of ice dance as moving as this. The chemistry in this piece is just unrivalled - absolute genius!

As a cynical Englishman I've always presumed that Torvill and Dean were somewhat overhyped and was watching this expecting to be able to find a fault. But I can't lol. As the commentator says, it was not technically the hardest skate ever but artistically it was brilliant. It was truely perfect dancing on ice!

What a clever and intricate performance. You just don't see this anymore and with them to learn from why the hell not? Magic to watch this.

Just great!

The perfect score was for artistic merit. A missed landing wouldn't really affect that score. Skaters then got 2 sets of scores. Technical and Artistic
