Yea, I like a mix of oval and road courses, though I definitely prefer road courses. Indycar between 1996-2003 or so was ALL ovals and I didn't really follow it. Now it is going back to about 50-50 so I like the idea of the driver winning the championship being required to be the best of both worlds. To each his own :)

Agree, only we call it rounders and primary school kids play it. lol. Anyway, to be fair I love american sportscar racing from the fifties and sixties, particulary C. Shelby spanking the ferraris. I liked what he did to our sportscars. In comparison an oval track just doesnt do it for me, fairground stuff really, but there you go each to their own.

They actually went faster in 2001. Pole speed was 241.4 in but I think that was the last Fontana race and the cars have been slowed down since :(

the year greg moore wa s killed at california the POLE speed was 240 an change fastest ever pole speed approachied 250 in bakstrectch that year..after that they ratacheted down the speed to the current 225-228 range for I love F1 too but its an apples to oranges comparison totally differnt cars an driving styles..thats why indy guys never do much in f1 an viceversa f1 has become all engineering recently at least they got rid of traction control but i still love it!!

fair reply. please tell me where indy cars travel 40-50 mph faster than f1 at any point.?If this was possible do you not think that the richest sport in the world would adopt the technology to achieve this? It's possible that a greater speed is achieved around an oval in the same way as a drag strip however it's hardly a real test. F1 has to go from 200+ down to 40 mph frequently during a typical lap. American racing is like baseball.A World series that no-one else plays.F1 is the ultimate test,
